    We still do have the bird flu, but it has not yet mutated into the form which is transmissible via human to human contact. Since 2003, 285 people have died – no, make that 288 (3 in the last month in Eqypt). It is mostly in Asian countries that bird flu has been found. Millions of chickens have been culled in an effort to stop this virus from killing more people. It has been a concerted worldwide effort, and we should be grateful that there has been so much cooperation and control to manage its spread.

    The swine flu is an unusual combination of a human, bird and pig virus, and it is contagious between humans. By the time the WHO got the alert of this new virus, 60 people had died in Mexico. Now the death toll is up to 80 + people.

    Believe me, this latest flu virus has not been blown out of proportion.

    Im terrified hearing over 100 have died from it…I live in Airdrie, Scotland where 2 people just back from Mexico are in hospital with suspected Swine Flu.

    Its a small town and if it is it could have spread quick, but no1 has told us what to do..like stay indoors or that!
